2 Gross domestic product (GDP) This measures the wealth created in a country in a given year (includes the production of goods and services). Canada`s GDP as of 2012: 1.821 Trillion dollars USA`s GDP as of 2012: 15.68 Trillion dollars

3 Economic concepts GDP per capita: the population’s purchasing power. Annual growth: the annual growth of the GDP. Inflation rate: the overall increase in the price of goods and services for a given year.

4 Economic concepts (continued) Gross national income (GNI) per capita: It is the average income (salaries and investment income) earned by a country’s population.

6 What is it? It is an indicator that takes into account individual well-being and ability and not only income and money.
