Purpose Provide background internship information in preparation for the upcoming Core Site Sessions Describe the site matching process It is expected that students will have reviewed these slides prior to attending the Core Site Sessions as this information will not be repeated in detail during the sessions.

Students are placed at one of these BC health authority core sites for their year 5 internship.8 core sites

4. Who is eligible for internship? Year 3 advanced placement and year 4 dietetics students who have: Successfully completed all year 3 and 4 program course requirements before internship Met requirements for good academic standing Completed all pre-internship requirements (Refer to year 4 section on the UBC Dietetics website found here as well as email communications from the program).found here Notes: You are responsible for ensuring your Degree Navigator is up to date and all your pre-internship requirements are complete by stated deadlines See Tamar, Kara or Karol asap if you have any doubts about your eligibility

Site matching key dates 1.Students submit core site ranking forms by Feb 12 2016. 2.DEC/DPE (Tamar/Kara) match students to core sites Start with students who ranked out of town sites as #1 Remaining names are randomized to a list Moving through the list from top to bottom, students are placed at their highest ranked choice available 3.Students are informed of site placements by email by last Friday in February, Feb 26 2016. 4.Students post site profile to UBC blog and confirm contact info for internship coordinators by last Friday in March, Mar 25 2016. (Instructions will be emailed out with site matching results.)
