2. 1 John Series The Witness in You!

3. God’s witness is the evidence of His Grace. (Water, Blood & Spirit)

4. State’s Evidence #1: The Water of our Lord’s incarnation and impeccable humanity while in Hypostatic Union.

5. State’s Evidence #2: The Blood of our Lord’s propitiatory sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins while upon the Cross of Calvary.

6. State’s Evidence #3: The Holy Spirit’s Common Grace ministry.

7. Each man needs to make a summary judgment for himself based on the facts presented.

8. Verse 10a, tells us of the personal nature of the decision we need to make.

9. “Believes” - Present, Active, Participle of PISTEUO = to believe or entrust in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ and His work upon the Cross.

10. “Has the witness in himself” ECHO - to have and hold. God’s evidence becomes your possession.

11. As Paul said, “my gospel”, in Rom 2:16; 16:25; and 2 Tim 2:8, relating the interpersonal relationship of the Lord’s gospel with his own life.

12. Your faith in Jesus Christ results in Christ in you.

13. Your faith in Jesus Christ results in Christ in you. Col 1:27, “To whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

14. You also receive the Holy Spirit, 1 Cor 3:16.

15. Additionally, you are washed clean of your sins and are positionally without sin, impeccable and sanctified. The Water washed you clean. 1 Cor 6:11; Rev 7:14

16. 1 Cor 6:11, “But you were washed, but you were sanctified (WATER), but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (BLOOD) and in the Spirit of our God (SPIRIT).”

17. Rev 7:14, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”

18. “In himself” EN AUTOS: Dative, 3 rd Person, Singular. Anyone can gain possession of eternal life (unlimited atonement), yet it is a personal issue between you and God.

19. Because you are connected for all of eternity with God’s witness, you become part of the evidence God presents in the appeal trial of the Angelic Conflict.

20. Therefore, you become the Fourth Witness.

21. Therefore, you become the Fourth Witness. Your salvation alone is proof of the righteousness and justice of God.
