3. What is Dasamsa
The word dasamsa has been derived from Das meaning 10 and Amsa means division
In a rasi chart each sign is of 30 Degrees whereas in dasamsa each sign would be of 3 degrees (30/10=3)
Each sign has 10 Dasamsa which means that the karma of 10 years * 12 signs = 120 years of longevity of human life
Manifestation of the karma is through Dasamsa only as this is considered as the chart of Mahat Phala where karma gets manifested

For Odd sign the dasamsa is from the sign itself(self)

6. How to prepare a Dasamsa chart
For odd sign the counting should start from own sign
For even sign the counting should start from the sign in the 9th house
For ex: Rahu in Mesha rasi(ODD) in 10th degree.Hence in d-10 it should be in Kartaka rasi.Here is the workings:
0-3 is Aries,3-6 is Taurus,6-9 is Gemini and 9-10 is Cancer. As Rahu is in odd sign in rasi chart it is counting from the sign itself and the 10th degree would fall in Karkataka rasi and the same is placed in Kartaka rasi in D-10 chart

9. How to prepare a Dasamsa chart
Example 2:If Venus is in 4th degree of Odd sign in Leo then 0-3 is Leo,3-6 is Virgo. Hence the planet Venus should be in Virgo in D-10 chart
Example 3:If Jupiter is in 14th degree in Even sign then take the 9th from the Even sign which in this case would be Pisces,hence the calculation for this:0-3 is Pisces,3-6 is Aries,6-9 is Taurus,9-12 is Gemini and is Cancer.Hence Jupiter goes to Cancer in D-10
Example 4:Lagns is in 13th degree in ODD sign in Leo hence Lagna would go to Saggitarius in d-10 chart is Leo,3-6 is Virgo,6-9 is Libra,9-12 is Scorpio and is Saggitarius.
