What is the first thing you see?

Appeal to Logos When you are driving the only thing that separates you from a car in the other lane is the yellow line in the middle. It is very easy for a drunk driver to cross that line and hit you. The yellow line in the middle portrays life and death.

Appeal to Pathos It makes you realize how easy it is to be hit by a drunk driver at anytime. It makes you feel scared that you could be hit by a drunk driver while you are driving and you could die.

Appeal to Ethos They put the sheriff’s tip line on it so if you see a drunk driver you should be responsible enough to call them in. It relates to all drivers because everyone who drives on the road is in danger of being hit by a drunk driver and dying.

What happens when you take out the text and the tip line number?

When you take out the text and the tip line all you have is an empty road. They are two vital parts of the ad because without the text you cannot get the point of calling in drunk drivers across to the audience.

Who is the audience? The audience is anyone who drives on the road or rides in a car because they are in danger of being hit by a drunk driver.
