1. 3.0 DESIGN PROCESS FOR THE PROPOSED PROJECT 3.1 TIME PLANNING Now, having understanding the Project Management in general and its strategy in the project development, we are now moving into more challenging tasks about the time planning and the design process for the proposed project development.

2. Here, the time planning is regarding with the detailed time plans and techniques for the proposed project to be followed. The Project Manager is going to do/show his overall responsibility to undertake that project especially during the construction time/period. The next step allows the plan to be ready and to make understanding to all parties involved in the project. The objective is to make the major revision early in the planning stage and make some minor changes (if necessary) to the plan. The idea here, so that everybody in the team will be able to understand what is the progress for the proposed project. This is known as visibility and is an essential features for both, the plan and the process during construction stage. The most commonly used techniques here is by using the bar or Gantt Chart or Cash-Flow.

4. From the Photo 1 above, shows the progress of the construction sites being carried out and should be completed within a specified time frame. Every construction site has its own responsibility according to the schedule or programme to avoid any delays or other unforeseen circumstances such as delayed in materials supply, increased in construction costs, extension of time periods, rainy day and any other reasons.

5. 3.2 SCHEDULING OF PROJECT Knowing the phases and duration of activities is a major step. Certain critical activities has taken placed at a particular time and the entire plan will be disrupted. If there is likely to be clashes/problems with the project schedules in a project development, there will be a constraint of the scheduling process. As a result the activities and phases will needs to be changed. But where different group of people are involved at different stages of the project, that team will focus on their part of the project only, with no consideration of the outcome of the whole. However, the Project Manager must identify the problems or he himself to be informed by the team.

6. So, having a proper scheduling in the project implementation, the Project Manager would like to see certain problems that might arise could be avoided and to adjust wherever possible so that the proposed project can runs smoothly. 3.3 CONCLUSION The objectives of time planning is to optimise the project scheduling and to prevent any problem during that process. This is to achieve through the systematic evaluation of the project’s activities, their duration and linkages.

8. This is the most widely use technique for the development schedule by using the Gantt Chart and network technique. Thus, it is a graphical planning tool to represents for the relationship between activities and the duration of the project to be carried out by the Project Manager.
