2. Objective To familiarize audience on the components of a heat pump and how it works.

3. What is a Heat pump? A heat pump is a device which moves hot air from one place to another.

4. Two main parts of a heat pump 1.Outdoor unit: Outdoor heat exchanger Compressor and a fan 2.Indoor unit Indoor heat exchanger A fan that distributes heated or cooled air to the duct system of the house.

5. How does a Heat Pump Work? Outdoor Unit: Air passes over outdoor coil Refrigerant (a low-temperature liquid) collects heat and changes to a low pressure, low-temperature vapour Vapour passes through a compressor. Vapour turns into a high pressure, high- temperature vapour.

6. How does a Heat Pump Work? Indoor Unit Hot vapour circulates into the indoor coil Vapour absorbs heat from the coil The warmed air is then redistributed through the duct system

7. Conclusion A heat pump is made out of an outdoor and indoor unit. Works on the fact that any air, even outside air during the winter, contains heat.
