2 How many steps does it take to make 1 single product? 1 st - A farmer must grow the plants and/or raise the animals. 2 nd - The business must supply materials or services to the farmers to get and keep their businesses running. 3 rd – The farmer must sell his materials to a business/ factory that will turn the goods into finished products. 4 th – The product will be processed, packaged, and labeled. 5 th – The manufacturing company will hire an advertising company to market the finished products so consumers will buy it. 6 th – The product will be shipped and stocked onto stores across the world.

3 Doesn’t seem like much? Think of all the people that it takes to operate each of the different steps.  Factories don’t hire only 1 worker, they hire hundreds.  How many truck drivers do you see on the roads?  Don’t forget to count the researchers and developers that look for ways to improve the product so it can be sold with a different label (ex-reduced fat)
