36 The cell membrane is scattered with RECEPTOR MOLECULES ● Molecules targeted at a specific cell will bind with the cell surface receptor if the shapes match ● The signaling molecule binds to the receptor and sends a signal that changes the behavior of the cell. ● This is how cells communicate with each other
