Food Facts at FHS 0 Reliable access to affordable and nutritious food is a major concern for many people, including people in Fredericton. 0 According to The Breakfast Club of Canada, 1 in 6 students comes to school without breakfast. 0 Students should come to school hungry for knowledge, not hungry for food.

3. 0 It is difficult for students to learn, participate, and reach their full potential if they lack food to fuel their bodies and minds. 0 Many students in our school, through no fault of their own, have limited access to food. FHS will make food available to every student who needs it.

4. FHS Kats’ Kitchen 0 FHS is initiating a free Grab-n-Go Breakfast program for students who do not have a chance to fuel up before school. 0 Grab a cereal bar, a muffin, a hard-boiled egg, yogurt, a juice box, or piece of fruit on your way to class. 0 Beginning February 10, items will be available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:10 – 8:25 at the Kats’ Kitchen…. Watch for the signs!!

5. FHS Kats’ Kitchen 0 The free Fuel-for-School Brown Bag Lunch will begin on Monday, February 22. Stay tuned for more details. 0 Lunch will include a sandwich, a drink, a piece of fruit, and a healthy treat.

6. We Need Your Help 0 Student volunteers are needed for this program. You will organize, publicize, distribute food, and serve your fellow students. 0 If you want to be part of this opportunity, please join Mrs. Marshall in room C117 on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 12:30 for our first meeting.
