1 Warm-Up: 08/24 MATH MONDAY! Copy Agenda. On Response Page, calculate and show your work. In a savannah, the average yearly rainfall is 150cm. The average yearly rainfall in a desert is 25cm. If a global climate change causes the savannah’s average yearly rainfall to decrease by.5cm every year, in how many years will the savannah become a desert?

2 Answer 150cm – 25cm = 125cm 125cm divided by.5 cm/year = 250 years OR It takes 2 years to reduce 1 cm, so for every 2 years there is a 1cm decrease. Therefore 125cm x 2 years/cm = 250 years years
