2 Qualifications and Requirements for Voting in Texas To be qualified to vote in Texas, a person must: 1. be 18 years of age or older; 2. be a United States citizen; 3. not have been determined by a final judgement of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

3 Qualifications and Requirements for Voting in Texas, continued. 4. not have been finally convicted of a felony or, if so convicted, you must have completed all of your punishment, including any term of incarceration, parole, supervision, period of probation, or you must have received a pardon. 5.be a resident of the county or political subdivision on the day of the election; and 6. be registered to vote.
