11 Top Tip - Number Three Familiar - Everyday Events Write about ordinary, daily things that everybody does at some time.. – BUT – Do try to write about them using a completely different angle or slant. For example – Brushing your teeth whilst sitting on a deserted island beach, watching the Ocean crash loudly against the rocks.

12 Top Tip - Number Four Explain Why.... Help your reader to understand your moods. By explaining your different Emotions and Feelings – the reader will be able to... VISUALISE and put themselves in your shoes. So, if you are sad – explain why you are sad. Similarly, if you are happy – explain why you are feeling in such a way.

14 Imagine that you have been marooned on a tropically beautiful, desert island. Now, using your “Desert Island Diary” booklet, write about a day you have experienced. Remember, use your 5 senses to describe your inner feelings & emotions throughout the whole day – from sunrise to sunset. Now it is your turn to write a Diary Recount.

15 Remember that the island may be quite big and full of weird & wonderful creatures. Think about the sights, sounds and possible smells on the island …… not only in the daytime, but also during the night time and early hours.
