2. Bunurong Coast The Bunurong coast is a marine park located on the southern coast of victoria in the Wonthaggi area. This area is host to a range of flora and fauna that is rarely found in the Victorian area. It is quite a popular spot for snorkelers and walkers with a variety of coastal tracks and underwater worlds to discover. The park was established in 1991 and is 1660km2

3. Biological Isolation 83% of mammals, 89% of reptiles, 90% of fish and insects and 93% of amphibians that inhabit the continent are endemic to Australia. This is largely due to Australia's separation long ago from the super continent Godwana. Factors that have helped are tectonic stability, and the effects of an unusual pattern of climate change on the soil and flora. This makes bunurong so unique as it houses a lot of these fish species that are endemic to Australia due to the separation from Godwana.

4. Geological stability Australia’s geological stability can be attributed to the fact that we are comfortably inside the borders of our tectonic plate so we have few mountain ranges, volcanoes and changing land masses. This has helped the bunurong coast as it has not had to deal with natural disasters like earthquakes that rapidly change the layout of the area.

5. Climate Variation Climate change has played a huge roll on Australia, already we are seeing the effects of rising temperatures causing sea levels to rise. This is hindering the bunurong coast as it is changing the boundaries of the marine park slowly but surely. Also this is effecting the species who are not used to such warm temperatures and the water being a lot warmer.
