Volcanoes Types of Volcano: 1.Active: Still erupts regularly. For example, Mt Etna, Italy. 2.Dormant: Has not erupted for a long time, but may erupt again. For example, Cotopaxi, Ecuador. 3.Extinct: Has not erupted in historic times. For example, Slemish, Co. Antrim.
