2 What? What is Childhood Cancer? Children can get many different types of cancer. It can be in the bones, blood, liver, kidney or even the eyes. They receive medicine called ‘chemo’ to get rid of the cancer. They can also receive radiation and surgery too.

3 What? What is Childhood Cancer? Chemo and radiation make hair fall out. This can be very scary and makes children with cancer feel different from their friends. Chemo also makes them feel sick and tired. Sometimes the medicines make their muscles very weak. Some medicines can also make them put on lots of weight. They have to see the doctor a lot.

4 What? What is Childhood Cancer? It’s important to remember that just because children with cancer look different, they are still the same person inside. They need to know that they are loved even more now, to help them get through so many changes. Having cancer can be very scary for everyone.
