3 Congratulations to Swim Team! The defeated Taylor Allderdice last evening Score – 94 - 75 They are Section Champs!!!

4 Announcement: Spirit Tshirts can be bought during all lunch periods starting Friday, February 19th and continuing until next Friday, February 26th and will be sold at the Student Council table. T-shirts are $8 and have each grade’s spirit week color featured. Wear your school spirit on your sleeve!

5 Talent show tryouts for the Spirit Week talent show! Sign up for the Talent Show tryouts during the next CCW! Be sure to have ALL THE STUDENTS IN YOUR ACT signed up for the same CCW session. IF YOU ARE USING MUSIC, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR MUSIC WITH YOU TO TRY OUT.

6 MAPS and Campus Ministry are sponsoring a children's book drive. Please join us in collecting our gently used children's books to donate to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. The drive will run from February 22nd through March 4th. There will be collection boxes located outside of the Guidance Office. Each box will be marked with a grade number so be sure to place your donation in your classes box. The class with most books will win spirit points. Let's go ladies! Let's donate as many books as possible!

7 Interested in trying something new? If you like being outside, being a part of a team and having fun, rowing is the sport for you! Join the OC Rowing Team for an afternoon and learn what the team is all about. A Learn to Row event will be held at the school from 4:30 to 6 on Wednesday February 24th. No experience necessary and girls of all grades are welcome! If you have any questions, please contact Vanessa Vogel.

8 Have you ever thought about what it might mean to be homeless? How would you keep up with your schoolwork if you didn’t have a place to live? Consider reading a New York Times article about a homeless girl named Dasani and joining the winter reading group onFebruary 24 and March 2. Ask your English teacher for the link to the article.

9 There will be two meetings to assign articles for the next issue of the Eagle Eye. Meeting One: Wednesday, Feb. 24 during the first CCW session in room 205. Meeting Two: Thursday, Feb. 25 immediately after school in room 205. Interested writers only need to attend one of the meetings. New writers are always welcome. Please see Mr. Finnegan with any questions.

10 This past Saturday, the indoor track team competed in Edinboro. The Distance Medley Relay of DeRiso, Schupansky, Aldrich, and Kavanaugh took 7th place. Also competing in the meet were Brooks, Muller, Maerkle, Smogor, and Henningsen. As a result of their efforts, the following athletes have qualified for the Tri- State Indoor Championships to be held this Saturday: Olivia Rowe in the triple jump and the hurdles Lauren Finikiotis in the mile And in the 3200 meter relay: Megan Ellery Casey Kavanaugh Hannah Schupansky Kate Aldrich
