10 EMPLOYMENT The Commission will exploit the full potential of the Europe 2020 Strategy and its Agenda for new skills and jobs by providing MS with analysis, political guidance, information exchange and other support. (National Reform Programs,) It will also address the issue of self employment and quality jobs, including aspects such as working conditions and career advancement, with the involvement of the social partners. The Commission will step up its support for voluntary initiatives that promote diversity management at the workplace, such as diversity charters signed by employers and a Social Business Initiative.

18 The European Disability Committee (EDC) could open the way for an increased coordination among the EU and MSs based on other examples: –the Social Protection Committee –the Employment Committee (recognised in the Treaty)

19 EDC Objectives Mainstreaming of disability in all EU policy making Ensure equal levels of employment and social inclusion of people with disabilities Ensuring participation of organisations of people with disabilities in the EU disability policy

20 EDC Composition EU Commission, MSs & EU Parliament Secretariat: EU Commission Chair elected among MS representatives, or co-chaired by EU Presidency and EC Bureau by representatives of the Trio Presidency to prepare the agenda Observers: Committee of the Regions and ECOSOC Experts invited on issues to be discussed

25 DECISION on the EDC Establishing concrete governance structure and procedures allocation of a specific budget to the actions identified in the Strategy full implementation of the UN CRPD Decision based on article 156 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to achieve the objectives of the European social policy

26 Biannual Meeting EC - EDF To evaluate –the EDC –the implementation of the UN Conventiion –the European disability Strategy 2010 – 2020 to enhance, and respect the new governance of disability policy at European level.
