1. Update on territorial boundaries specification process

2. The goal All administrative borders of 61 municipalities are finally specified in accordance with GIS technical standards. A GIS company contracted and start working on October following the ToR`s and under the MSLI guidance.

3. The process up to date a thorough analysis and identification of the boundary overlaps for 61 new municipalities; the virtual definition of territorial boundaries of 61 newly established municipalities using GIS systems, and the designing of a manual for municipalities’ specialists on the use and definition of the borders of their territory using information they possess at local level.

4. The process in addition, four training sessions of Urban and Property Registration Office specialists from the 61 municipalities (approx. 120 people) have been carried out. The sessions provided with detailed instruction on how to input the required data in the system as per the (pre-developed) manual above. (bottom up approach).

5. Next steps By the end of December all municipalities will enter their data into the system; The cross checking process of the eventual overlapping between municipal borders of 61; The consultation and negotiation process to resolve eventual border overlapping and complaints process; The process will end up with a final Council of Minister Decision specifying all 61 borders with GIS accuracy and published in ASIG GeoPortal.
