2 AIP-6 GEOSS Water Services Sensor and Model Web in our project: GEOSS Water Services aims to build a global registry of water data, map and modeling services catalogue using the standards and procedures of the Open Geospatial Consortium and the World Meteorological Organization. There are two main products in the future envisaged in GEOSS: Model Web and Sensor Web. In GEOSS Water Services Sensor Web activities are more concerned with the observations and sensors, while modeling belongs to the Model Web side.

3 AIP-6 GEOSS Water Services Sensor Web components Hydrologic formats : CUAHSI: WaterOneFlow/WaterML1,OGC: SOS1/O&M (with the variants A,B,C), OGC: SOS1/WaterML2, OGC: SOS2/WaterML2, OGC: WFS/GML Hydrologic timeseries : temperature, precipitation, discharge, groundwater, … Hydrologic databases : Hydstra, Hydroserver, WISKI, North52, … Hydrologic catalogs : Hiscentral, GEO-DAB, … Water web services : WaterOneFlow, KIWIS, … Web clients : HydroMap, CEOS Water Portal, … Desktop clients : Hydrodesktop, Kister client, PYXIS WorldView, QGIS, …

4 AIP-6 GEOSS Water Services Ordering the components Application of water data sharing systems Support of WaterML2 data format Develop National\Regional systems (New Zealand, Italy, …) Develop a global federated system Registration of data providers in GEO-DAB broker Development of a Controlled Vocabularies service Development of open source solutions …. Support the interoperability between different server\client software systems

5 AIP-6 GEOSS Water Services Let’s discuss some issues today How can we support the activities in the program of CHy-14 - Theme Area 2 - Data Operations and Management? How can we register into GEO-DAB broker? How can we improve GEOSS Discovery and Access Broker by a system client such as CEOS Water Portal? How can we improve client applications? Remember that we need to compose a “story” on Sensor Web in GEOSS Water Services
