3.  Membrane technology is a new multi-disciplinary high- technology. 10. * There are five universities located in Hi-Tech Zone, including Shandong University Weihai Campus, Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai), Shandong College of Pharmacy, Weihai Vocational (Technical) College, and Shandong Maritime College. *We established Shandong University Biotechnology Center, Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) International Microelectronics Center, Song Jian Institute of Science and technology, Harbin Institute of Technology Science and industrial Technology Research Institute, Weihai Branch and other public R & D platform. * we also set up more than 60 Institutes including Computer Application, marine biology, smart technology, energy and environment, electrochemistry, auto parts, etc. *Currently, there are seven post-doctoral research stations, three academician workstations, more than 60 research institutes Personnel and Technical Conditions

11.  two national test center, two national laboratories in carbon fiber and medical equipment, four provincial level laboratories, and over one hundred technical centers and public service testing platforms.  Marine Science and Technology College of Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) was awarded the "National International Science and Technology Cooperation Base", and it is identified as “Marine Engineering Materials and Processing Technology International Joint Research Centre”; Mr. Changlu Gao is a PhD supervisor from that institution, and he used to study in the USA. He is now dedicated in the field of membrane material preparation and modification.  Marine College of Shandong University (Weihai) also has membrane-associated chemistry and pharmacy major. 12.  It was established in Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) in October 2008.  Based on "Urban Water Resources (North) National Engineering Research Center", it was focused on applications of membrane technology research and strategic directions.  Located in Weihai, it serves Weihai, as well as the entire Shandong province and northern region, to promote the application and development of new technologies and products in local Membrane industry. China - EU Membrane Technology Application Seminar  The seminar was organized by the Department of International Cooperation, Provincial Science and Technology Department and Weihai city.  It has been successfully held nine times since 2004.  A total of ten thousand experts and business representatives attended the event. Over 100 technical problems were solved by over 100 foreign experts; 30 scientific and technological achievements were obtained.  It became an important platform for the international forefront of membrane technology, and also made a positive contribution to promote the application and development of membrane technology.
