Whole group mini lesson Writing about “small moments” Teacher conferencing Sharing either in partners or whole group Writing journals with teacher given prompt Writings will be kept in a Writer’s Workshop Folder and will be sent home at progress report time and report card time. A Klein ISD writing rubric will be used to grade the students’ participation during writer’s workshop.

13. Homework Your child records his/her homework daily in an agenda book. All homework is to be completed nightly and returned in the homework folder. Very soon a reading log and books will be added to your child’s Homework Folder. After your child has read, please initial the reading log. Further information to come. Weekly folders come home on Wednesdays. Please sign and have your child return them the next day.

14. Classroom Consequences and Rewards At Lemm, we expect success! First Grade Expectations: Follow directions the first time. Respect others and their property. Speak one person at a time. Raise your hand and wait to be called on. Be prepared with supplies and other materials. Rewards First Grade Money to spend on a reward day (every third Friday) Principal visits or Happy Notes home. Consequences: Marks in the behavior book Notes/phone calls home, quiet table at lunch, missing fun activities.

15. End of the Year First Grader Reading on a level I, fluency at 60 wpm, comprehension of text. Identify all of first grade sight words. Writing in complete sentences using correct capitalization and punctuation. Memorization of + facts to sum of 18 Memorization of – facts with whole of 18. Understanding of the scientific process.
