3 The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrates the fact that Allah (God) gave Muslims the Qur’an to help them live good lives Qur’an

4 Eid-Ul-Adha – Festival of Sacrifice Abraham – Ibrahim The Sacrifice

5 The Holy Kabah in Makkah, Saudi Arabia – the centre of the Muslim world The Hajj (annual pilgrimage)

6 On the morning of Eid everyone dresses up in their best clothes and shoes

7 Girls and women like to decorate their hands with beautiful patterns using henna.

8 When Muslims pray they cover their hair to show their respect for Allah (God) Special Eid prayers are offered either at mosque and at home Boys wear hats and Girls wear scarves Prayers/ Salah

9 Charity (zakat) - Thinking of others who are less fortunate Muslims practice:

10 After prayers everyone hugs each other and wishes ‘EID MUBARAK’ Friends and families like to get together on Eid to celebrate the special days ‘HAPPY EID’

11 Eid cards, gifts and money are often exchanged

12 Everyone looks forward to eating lots of delicious food on Eid day, especially after all that fasting!
