SQUADS ACT Prep Round 5 Subject: 11 th Grade Science Agenda Page 55 Learning Intentions - Today, we will address these College Readiness Standards in Science: 1.Interpretation of Data, 16-19, 20-23, 24-27 2.Scientific Investigation, 20-23 Success Criteria – I know I am successful when I can select two or more pieces of data from a simple data presentation, translate information from a table into a graph, and compare and combine data from a data presentation. I also know I am successful when I can identify similarities and differences between experiments. Week 25 CPW

Please Note You have 2 Minutes to read your passage. You will have 1 minute and 15 seconds to work on each question individually. You will have 1 minute and 30 seconds to work as a group and write your rationales for each answer.

11 th Grade Science 1.Which of the following graphs best illustrates the relationship between the heat released by the foods listed in Table 1 and the change in water temperature?

11 th Grade Science 2.Based on the data in Table 2, one can conclude that when the mass of sucrose is decreased by one-half, the amount of heat released when it is burned in a bomb colorimeter will: A.increase by one-half. B.decrease by one-half. C.increase by one-fourth. D.decrease by one-fourth.

11 th Grade Science 3.Which of the following lists the foods from Tables 1 and 2 in increasing order of the amount of heat released per gram of food? A.potato, egg, bread, sucrose, cheese B.sucrose, cheese, bread, egg, potato C.bread, cheese, egg, potato, sucrose D.sucrose, potato, egg, bread, cheese

11 th Grade Science 4.Based on the information in Tables 1 and 2, the heat released from the burning of 5.0 g of potato in a bomb calorimeter would be closest to which of the following? A.5 kJ B.10 kJ C.15 kJ D.20 kJ

CPW 11 th Grade Science Repeat the questions with your squad members. Be sure to write a rationale. If you don’t write a rationale, you won’t learn as much. Your brain is like a muscle. Use it! 1 minute and 30 seconds per question for Squad Mode. After the rationale writing is done, launch the Answers video.
