3 WHO European Centre for Environment and Health Environmental Health Indicators: Air Pollution  Constitute important information stream in evaluating health effects of environmental pollution as well as policies. Pollutant emissions:  WHO EHIS focus on: exposure and health effects (‘downstream’ information), and also actions. EHIS AT THE FOURTH MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE ON ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH

Pollutants release and transfer information  In the case of POPs and other toxic substances, just the information on emissions serves a warning signal.

5 WHO European Centre for Environment and Health  The UNECE conventions, related to them protocols and the pollutants release and transfer registers (PRTR) are very important mechanisms to ensure regular and harmonized national reporting and access to information.
