2 Welcome to Bratislava EF3 extends a warm welcome to Bratislava. with a population of about 500,000, the country’s largest city. Bratislava is in southwestern Slovakia, occupying both banks of the River Danube and the left bank of the River Morava. Bordering Austria and Hungary, it is the only national capital that borders two independent countries

3 A little bit of history The history of the city has been strongly influenced by people of different nations and religions, namely by Austrians, Czechs, Germans, Hungarians, Jews, Serbs and Slovaks (in alphabetical order).The city was the capital of the Kingdom of Hungary a part of the larger Habsburg Monarchy territories, from 1536 to 1783 and has been home to many Slovak, Hungarian and German historical figures. 1526-1784, Bratislava was the Capital of the old Hungary. It became the seat of the government. Since 1919, Bratislava has been the Capital of Slovak republic

4 Bratislava – some places to see Staré Mesto: The jewel of the hungarian crown St Michael´s Gate: A gothic gate built on the 14th centery. The 51-meter tower has seven floors, with a superb view of the old town The Old Town Hall dates back to the beginnings of the mediaeval town in the 13th century. St. Martin´s Cathedral: Bratislava's three-nave Gothic cathedral is built on the site of a previous, Romanesque church from 1221. Hungarian kings and queens used to be crowned in. The castle: overlooking the city, dominates the panorama of Bratislava The Danube river: Europe's second longest river continues on through cities like Budapest and Belgrade before arriving at the Black Sea

Restaurants walking distance from the hotel. As always, a satisfaction survey will be sent by EF3 after the meeting to collect your impressions on this venue.
