2. Town of Jupiter Slide 2 FY 2011 Residents’ and Businesses’ Tax Bill A typical Jupiter resident’s tax bill is made up of several items. The portion of a resident’s tax bill that goes to the Town is approximately 13%. The Town of Jupiter’s tax rate for Fiscal Year 2011 will be 2.5142, which is the same as the tax rate in 2010. However, due to declining property values, revenues from property taxes will fall by approximately $1.3 million in 2011.

3. Town of Jupiter Slide 3 Jupiter FY 2011 Budget Total Budget is higher due primarily to capital investments – such as Central/Indiantown Road Intersection. General Fund increased due to capital, pension and maintenance expenses. However, total Town tax collection will be reduced by $1.3m. Fund Balance and revenue from other agencies fill the revenue gap.

Town of Jupiter Slide 4 Major Town Initiatives Impacting Abacoa Organizational Sustainability –Adjust from an organization designed to manage growth to one designed to sustain the community. –Using fund balance to supplement operational expenses as the organization is structured to be financially sustainable long-term. Infrastructure Equity –Equitable means of funding infrastructure maintenance expenses –Reducing direct costs to HOAs but increasing costs to the Town in general Preparing for Transit –Input on Station Locations –Balance residential concerns with need for sustainable transportation options and economic development needs. Business Outreach –Attraction and Retention Efforts –High-Tech/R&D/Eco- and Heritage-Tourism –Town Center Quality of Life and Future Plans
