Working Group on Quality Assurance Our achievements –developed documents overall template on quality assessment guidelines on ongoing supervision guidelines on the periodic internal assessment of the internal audit function guidelines for the external assessment of the internal audit function by the CHU –document in the process of developing guidance for the internal assessment of the CHU

3. Working Group on Quality Assurance Vision –an independent external review of the internal audit function cannot be performed by the CHU when outsourced - quite expensive

4. Working Group on Quality Assurance Solutions –expert training on quality review two days - test a team of quality reviewers lead by an expert a mix of CHU staff and heads of internal audit –assess the quality of the internal audit function (including the CHU) in a host country the expert will coach and assess the individual team members –after two quality engagements certified quality reviewers - external reviewers who can independently lead quality reviews

5. Working Group on Quality Assurance Pros –theoretical IA COP efforts supplemented by a hands-on practical approach –certification - a guaranty for quality –independence issue resolved –costs for individual PEMPAL countries limited –a sustainable solution –the PEMPAL donors and sponsors will see a real practical achievement
