8 I need 6 volunteers. Four of you stand on the right and two of you stand on the left. Four birds were sitting on a fence. Two more birds flew over to join them. How many birds were there in total? What number sentence can we write on the board to match the story? What numbers are the “parts” and what number is the “total?” Working with Count- On Fact Families

9 Turnaround Facts- the same numbers in each sentence are used to describe the parts and total. Working with Count- On Fact Families Related Facts- subtraction facts do not have turnarounds, because trying to turnaround a subtraction fact in the same way as a addition fact creates sentences that are not true.
