2 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DIHK-CEFTA PROJECT 24. März 2015 The DIHK-CEFTA Partnership Project “Implementation of CEFTA in order to improve the internationalization of SEE economy” is a partnership project between the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and the SEE chambers. The main goal of this project is that SMEs in Southeast Europe benefit from the options offered by the CEFTA Agreement and increase the income and employment opportunities in the region as a result. The Chambers of the CEFTA parties are qualified for an active role in the implementation the CEFTA Agreement, particularly with respect to promoting SMEs.

3 DURATION AND FINANCING OF THE PROJECT  The DIHK-CEFTA Partnership Project was launched in 2010 on the initiative of the Association of Balkan Chambers. Its duration is 2 phases per 3 years, finishing in 2016.  The Project is financed by the Federal German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Developement(BMZ) through the Foundation for Economic Developement and Vocational Training (SEQUA). 24. 6 THE PROJECT OBJECTIVES  Supporting the organization of conference, round table and forums on CEFTA related topics and issues  Supporting the work of the CEFTA working groups  Minimizing the non-tariff customs barriers  Supporting the border crossing cooperation between regional chambers from different countries  Supporting the chambers in elaboration of new services 24. 7 THE PROJECT OBJECTIVES  Supporting the organization of cooperation meetings for companies in-between the SEE region  Establishing of a network of educational centers/ programs for companies at the chambers of commerce and industry  Supporting the organization of participation for the SEE chambers and companies at common stand on fairs and exhibitions in SEE (in the 1 st phase )  Supporting the publication of guides, brochures, PR materials on different topics (in the 1 st phase ) 24.
