3 SCIENTIST and BIOLOGIST Ernest E. Just Ernest Just is known for his work in the study of the cell’s surface. He is also one of the founders of the OMEGA PSI PHI Fraternity.

5 SCIENTIST and MEDICAL RESEACHER Dr. Julian L. Percy Dr. Percy Julian, scientist and medical researcher, found a way to treat glaucoma.

6 BIOLOGIST, SCIENTIST, and ZOOLOGIST R. Arliner Young She was the first African-American woman to receive a doctorate degree in zoology in 1940.

7 SCIENTIST and INVENTOR Walter Lincoln Hawkins Hawkins developed a plastic to cover telephone wires in the 1940’s. He is a recipient of the National Medal of Technology.

9 One of Americas Most Influential African-Americans In Technology Stacy Spikes Stacy Spikes is an American entrepreneur. He is best known as the co-founder and CEO of MOVIEPASS.

10 Dr. Croak has received over 100 patents in VoIP technology, with an additional 100 + under review by the U.S. Patent Office. TECHNOLOGIST and INVENTOR Dr. Marian R. Croak

11 TECHNOLOGIST AND INVENTOR Gerald A. Lawson Gerald Lawson created the first home video game system with interchangeable game cartridges.

12 TECHNOLOGIST AND ENGINEER Donya Douglas Donya Douglas currently serves as an Associate Branch Head in the Instrument Systems Branch at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

13 TECHNOLOGIST and ENTREPENEUR Malik Ducard Mr. Dugard collaborates with multiple broadband, wireless, hardware devices to expand globally. He works with Youtube and Google.

15 ENGINEER Elijah McCoy Elijah McCoy was trained as a professional mechanical engineer in Scotland. He received several patents for inventing devices to help trains travel efficiently around the world.

16 ENGINEER Dr. Wanda Austin Dr. Wanda M. Austin is president and CEO of The Aerospace Corporation, a leading architect for the nation’s national security space programs.

17 ENGINEER Henry O. Flipper Lt. Flipper, studied engineering at West Point Academy. He was known for his design of a drainage system at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Flipper was also the first African-America to graduate from the West Point Academy.

18 ENGINEER Walter Braithwaite He has led engineering development and management teams for Boeing Aircrafts since the 1970s

19 ENGINEER Ursula Burns She became the first female African-American to lead a Fortune 500 company after taking over as CEO for XEROX in 2009.

21 David Blackwell is the most famous African American Mathematician. He earned his Ph.D in Mathematics in 1941 at the age of 22. MATHEMATICIAN David Blackwell

22 MATHEMATICIAN Trichette L. Jackson Jackson is the co-founder, and is the co-director, of the Mathematics Biology Research Group (MBRG).

23 MATHEMATICIAN Benjamin Banneker Benjamin Benneker was a mathematician and land surveyor for Washington, D.C.

24 MATHEMATICIAN Annie Easley Annie J. Easley was an African-American computer scientist, mathematician, and rocket scientist. She worked for the Lewis Research Center and NASA.

25 Mathematician Dr. Johnathan Farley He is the 2004 recipient the Harvard Foundation’s Distinguished Scientist of the Year Award.
