AM and PM Sermons for Sunday, April 15, 2012 Sermon charts will be available on our Website: Julingtoncreekchurchofchrist.net “POSITIVE VS. NEGATIVE ATTITUDES”
3
ATTITUDES GOVERN ACTIONS Difference between – Acts 2:37 and 7:54
4
NEGATIVISM Thought characterized by disapproval and rejection, doubt and question, skepticism; an attitude that opposes or ignores suggestions made by others.
5
NEGATIVISM Produces no good. Destroys – tears down. It is worldly. Discourages. Hinders others from working. Counterproductive. Looks for bad in people. Can lead to great sin.
6
POSITIVISM Going in the direction of increase; clockwise motion; making a definite contribution; constructive. Problem-solving attitude … “Constructivism.”
7
POSITIVISM Produces good. Builds up. It is spiritual. Encourages. Helps not hinders. Looks for ways to further God’s work. Looks for the good not bad. Leads to righteousness.

The Language of Defeat ISRAELITES: It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians that we should die in the wilderness (Ex. 14:12). FELIX: When I have a more convenient time (Acts 24:24). Matt. 25:25: I was afraid.
9
The Language of Defeat SPIES: they are stronger than we are … We were as grasshoppers in our own sight (Nu. 13:31-33) LACKED CONFIDENCE IN GOD AND SELF. MOSES: They will not believe me (Ex. 4:1). LACKED CONFIDENCE IN OTHERS.
10
The Language of Victory I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Phil 4:13). Our God shall fight for us (Neh. 4:20). In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths (Prov. 3:6).
11
The Language of Victory God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can endure (1 Cor. 10:13). We know that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord… (Rom. 8:28).
