1 Bellringer 1/11/16 Morrie expresses a strong desire to be allowed the right to choose his own death. A current debate in this country is whether to allow people who have an incurable and terminal illness to choose how and when to die. States like Oregon have laws that allow Physician Assisted Suicide, where a doctor comes and administers drugs that will put you to sleep before the disease you have kills you in a different and often more painful way. Some people think this is humane, while others believe that this is murder. In a paragraph, make the argument about whether or not physician assisted suicide should be legal in all states for people who are terminally ill or if this should be considered murder.

2 Word Riddles Choose 15 words from your prefix, suffix, and roots list. You will come up with riddles for each one of these words for your classmates to solve. You must give at least 3 clues for the word. Leave space for someone to write an answer to your riddles. When I call time, exchange with someone who is not sitting around you. This person now has 20 minutes to solve your riddles. Example: atrophy – 1. I have both a prefix and a root. – 2. My prefix means without or not. – 3. My root means nutrition. – 4. I am what happens to your muscles when you don’t leave your bed for weeks at a time.

3 NoRedInk Grammar Check Write down 3 questions you had while completing your NoRedInk assignment over Winter Break/this weekend. What were the top three topics that you feel you need help on? Be as specific as you can.
