Water Cycle The water evaporates from the rivers, seas, lakes and forms clouds. When the temperature decreases the water vapor becomes liquid and rain occurs. Water returns to the surface.

Resevoir – El Gergal A part of the water can be stored in a reservoir.

This water isn´t drinkable so it´s necessary to divert it to a water station where the water is treated (decantation, filtration and the adding of chlorine and fluorine) and turned into drinkable water. The water is then stored in a big water tank and after it is distributed to our houses.

We use water to wash, to shower, to clean, to drink, to cook, etc. After using the water, it becomes dirty again where it then goes to a waste water plant.

In this plant the waste water is treated in order to get rid of contaminants before draining into the rivers. Water Treatment Plant - Ranilla

The Water In Our Lives Water is one of the most important nutrients. Our body is made up of at least 60% of water.

Properties of the water Water has properties that are very important in maintaining life in the planet: It is a good solvent Regulator of the environment´s temperature Water reaches its maximum density when it is liquid

The Water in our houses In our houses we use water in many situations. Thus, water is a very valuable resource.

Taking care of water We must take care of the water we use by taking necessary measures to conserve it. – While brushing your teeth or washing your hands keep the water turned off. – Take a shower instead of a bath – Only use the washing machine or dishwasher when they are full – Repair leaks – Flush the toilet only when necessary
