In 2008 a study could cost $50,000 for a 100 feet (30m) run of a stream. A license cost between $150,000 and $1 million. A project earns money from the sale of energy. Hydroelectricity

Why is Hydro Electric energy so popular? Hydro electric energy is so popular because it's so cheap. It is also popular because it does not pollute our society Plus dams are popular to so that helps it even more.

Historical Growth of Hydro electric power. Currently Hydro Power is at 7% of the US budget. Dam building really was initiated in the 1930's. Since 1970 hydro production has leveled off and therefore becomes an increased amount.

How Does Hydroelectric Power Work? Hydroelectric power is generated by the force of falling water The water is held behind a dam, forming a artificial lake The force of water being released from the lake through the dam spins the blades of the turbine The turbine is connected to the generator that makes electricity as it spins After the water passes through the turbine it flows back into the river on the other side of the dam

Pros and Cons Of Hydroelectric Power Advantages Relatively low cost The technology is reliable Rainfall renews the water Water to run the power plant is provided by nature Less air pollution Disadvantages High investment cost Hydrology dependent Fish entrainment or passage restriction Can change reservoir and stream capacity Can cause loss or modification of fish habitat

People who can use hydroelectric energy!! To use hydroelectric energy most of the you have to live near the mountains or by a water source.

The reason why people want to use hydroelectric energy. One reason why people want to use hydroelectric energy is because it would not cost as much as normal energy. And this is a picture of how it works.
