2. Our Mission This charity is the heart of the Keller Williams Realty culture in action – finding and serving the higher purpose of business through charitable giving in the communities where our agents live and work. KW Cares is a U.S. tax exempt 501(c)(3) public charity located in Austin, TX. It was created to support Keller Williams Realty associates and their families in times of extreme hardship as a result of a sudden emergency. Hardship is defined as a difficult circumstance that a person or family cannot handle without outside help. What is KW Cares?

KW Cares was conceived by agents of the first Keller Williams Realty Market Center who fostered the spirit of “family helping family.” Mo Anderson Chair of KW Cares Mo adopted this dream and brought it to fruition across North America. Today, KW Cares is supported by KW associates, world-wide. Mary Tennant Vice Chair of KW Cares. Mary fostered the very first KW Cares.

4. Who We Are? Board of Directors The Board is comprised primarily of Keller Williams Realty leaders from across North America. KW Cares is governed by a board of directors with the assistance of an advisory board. The Board may include leaders from outside of Keller Williams who possess expertise in specific areas of business (finance, legal, etc). 5. Market Center Goals Each Market Center’s is asked to raise $30,000 annually for charitable giving with minimally 10% or $3,000 to be raised specifically for KW Cares. It is our hope that most of the money you raise as an office will stay in your own communities. As a team, each Market Center should decide what portion of its overall fundraising goal will benefit KW Cares, how much will be for other charities, and how much will be for its local emergency needs fund. Your local emergency needs fund should be called something other than KW Cares. For example: Heart Fund, AHA (Agents Helping Agents), etc.

6. Culture Committee Each Market Center should have a Culture Committee dedicated to supporting KW Cares and developing a local emergency fund. The Committee functions as the steward of the Market Center’s Culture. The committee chair should sit on the ALC and designate a KW Cares Representative. The KW Cares Representative serves as primary contact between the Market Center and the KW Cares. Each Region should have a KW Cares Regional Representative. This representative serves as the primary contact between KW Cares and the Region.

7. Heartbeats Heartbeats is the quarterly KW Cares publication that provides insight on many who have been helped by KW Cares. They kindly open their hearts to share how your generous donations have helped them. Donation updates, stats and important messages appear in the newsletter.

8. KW Cares Grants A KW Cares grant provides a degree of assistance for Keller Williams associates and their families experiencing financial hardship as a result of a sudden emergency. It is usually a one-time grant, except as special circumstances may dictate. KW Cares grants are based on demonstrated need. It is a one-time grant, except as special circumstances may dictate. 9. Grant Application Process How to Apply With your KW Cares Representative, determine if your request meets the criteria for financial hardship due to a sudden emergency. Download and complete the KW Cares Grant Application. Submit the applicationKW Cares Grant Application with the required signatures and the supporting documentation to your Team Leader. The region will send the application with all required signatures, cover letter and supporting documentation to KW Cares at 435-514-2229 (fax) or email it to kwcares@kw.com. kwcares@kw.com The grant request will be submitted to the KW Cares Board of Directors for final determination. Please allow up to 30 days following receipt of all required documentation, for a response. Once approved at the market center level, forward the completed Grant Application Packet to the Regional Director.Grant Application The KW Cares Representative should send periodic updates on the grantee to kwcares@kw.com.

10. Successful Outcomes It is only through your generosity that KW Cares is able to make a difference in the lives of many in the Keller Williams family. Your compassion does make it possible! Periodically, KW Cares shares inspirational updates on many who have benefited from KW Cares. These folks open their hearts to share their story of how your generous donations have helped them and their family.
