3. Good Listeners are Careful About… * Who they hear * What they hear * How they hear * Applying what they’ve heard

4. God wants us to Hear His Son “And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” (Mark 9:7)

5. Sheep Hear the Voice of the their Shepherd, but not the voice of Strangers “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27) “Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” (John 10:5)

6. Jesus is God’s Son and our Shepherd Those who listen to Jesus will be careful about WHAT they hear & HOW they hear: “Then He said to them, ‘Take heed what you hear...’” (Mark 4:24) “Therefore take heed how you hear…” (Luke 8:18)

8. Good Listeners Listen to Learn what God Expects of Them “Walk prudently when you go to the house of God; and draw near to hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil.” -- Ecclesiastes 5:1

Good Listeners are Blessed when they Apply What they Hear nursed You!’ But He said, ‘More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!’ ” (Luke 11:27-28) “And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, ‘Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!’ But He said, ‘More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!’ ” (Luke 11:27-28)

10. Good Listeners are Blessed when they Apply What they Hear “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:22) “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” (James 1:25)

11. “Oh, that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways!” -- Psalms 81:13

12. Like Cornelius long ago, “we are all present before God” today to hear His words! (Acts 10:33) Let us be GOOD LISTENERS!
