4 International Agreements Three basic types: Mutual Recognition Agreement Co-operation Agreement APEC Engineer based Agreement

5 The International Committee Chaired by NDP Oversees and coordinates EA’s efforts to achieve Objective 6 of Strategic Plan Terms of Reference to be agreed by Council in February, but broadly –Administers overseas chapters –Oversees and approves international agreements (IAS) –Recommends appointments to international bodies –Communicates our overseas activities

6 The International Agreement Secretariat (IAS) A subcommittee of the International Committee Responsibilities : –Ensure negotiations follow due process –Manage and administer all international agreements

7 What Do We do on the world scene? WFEO WA/SA/EMF/ETMF APEC Engineer Register Trade/FTAs
