The house of the scorpion Nancy Farmer Chris Rathel

What is it? A little boy named Matt who is the clone of El Patron. Everyone sees Matt as a monster except for El Patron. Title: the house of the scorpion What is your book’s genre? Write it here: Fiction Attribute: The setting of the story. Attribute: The event of the cloning makes this book a fiction novel. Attribute: People with implants in there heads. Example: Example: Leviathan By: Scoot Westerfeld

Attribute: The setting of the story. The setting off this story is between the United States and Mexico in a country called Opium. The land is on a dessert so I don’t see how it is possible to even life there.

Attribute: The event of the cloning makes this book a fiction novel. Finally the round outlines quivered and lines appeared, dividing the cells in two… he watched the samples grow, and then he carefully mowed them to the incubator (3). “All the information was there to grow a real copy – shin, hair, bones, and brain- of a real man. You’re exactly like El Patron when he was seven years old” (80).

Attribute: People with implants in there heads. “ Save me from eejits… I knew we shouldn’t have brought the eejit”(17). “An eejit is a person or animal with an implant in its head… Eejits can do only simple things”(81-82).

EVALUATION: Is the house of the scorpion a good example of fiction. I think that the house of the scorpion is an ok example of a fiction book. It seems to me that some of the events that happened could be possible but the rest of what goes on in the story wouldn’t really happen in real life situations.
