Royal Society of Chemistry SCELC Vendor Day Thomas Romano Regional Sales Manager – The Americas

The world’s leading chemistry community We are a not-for-profit organisation with over 51,000 members across the globe and a heritage that spans 175 years. Our expanding selection of journals, books, databases and magazines with acclaimed international authors allows us to invest further in the future of the chemical sciences. Who we are

What we publish Journals Literature Updating Services Databases Magazines Book Series and eBooks Major Reference Works

Our scope

Our growth For the first time ever the RSC has published more quality article than the ACS. The 2015 analysis of our market share of quality chemistry papers published supports one of our 7 strategic priorities - ‘to publish the largest share of chemical sciences research’. The dataset includes all ACS, Wiley and our journals as well as chemistry journals from other publishers with an impact factor of 3 or more. *Market share refers to our share of quality articles from journals with an Impact Factor above 3.

Our impact We continue to deliver high quality content. Our exceptional standards are reinforced by the 2013 Journal Citation Reports ®: We publish 6 of the top 20 journals in the multidisciplinary chemistry category 33% of our journals have an Impact Factor above 5, and 85% above 3 Almost three-quarters (73%) of our journals are in the top 25% of their ISI categories

Our impact This graph shows the average Impact Factor across the RSC portfolio i.e. the sum of all journal Impact Factors divided by the total number of journals

Our international influence In 2014, over 113,000 authors from 87 countries published with us, and our Editorial Board members are truly international. Based in Cambridge (UK), our publishing operation also has offices in: Philadelphia & Washington (USA), Tokyo (Japan), São Paolo (Brazil), Bangalore (India), Beijing & Shanghai (China) and Berlin (Germany)
