2 Summary In each of the three stories in this book, adapted from Gulliver’s Travels, the hero, Lemuel Gulliver, goes on a journey and he faces many challenges. In Part 1, he arrives in Lilliput, where he wakes up to find himself a giant, held prisoner by tiny men.

4 In Part 2, Gulliver is the tiny person in Brobdingnag, a land of giants.

5 In Part 3, Gulliver ends up in the land of the Houyhnhnms, peaceable horses who have created a perfect society, except for the presence of monkey-like Yahoos.

9 He was born in 1667 in Ireland He was the Dean of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin. The book made fun of the political scene and certain important people in England It was published anonymously and was an overnight success. He became an influential member of the British Government
