Types A, B, C, D: Transmits more horsepower at a longer life than3L, 4L, and 5L belts. Suitable for clutching applications. Types AX, BX, CX: Notches provide for more aggressive gripping. For industrial applications of high horsepower. Types 3VX, 5VX, and 8V: Smaller wedge angle allows for larger horsepower transfer than with other belts; intended for high horsepower applications.
