The Holocaust was the organised persecution and murder of Jews, homosexuals, Romani Gypsies, people with mental health issues, people with physical disabilities, Polish people, Jehovah’s witness, Roman Catholics, and anyone else who did not conform to Hitler’s idea of the “perfect race”. It took place between 1933 and 1945 in countries all over Europe. 3. How many people were murdered during The Holocaust? 11 million people were murdered as a result of Hitler and his Nazi party. But what does this number look like? The population of Worthing is only 97,540 The population of Eastbourne is 99,412 If every single person in these three places was to be killed, it still doesn’t reach half a million.
