What is time? Time is what clocks, hourglasses, sundials, and calendars show us.

What is time? Well, watch the second hand go around a clock. Click here

The second hand says, “Tick tick tick.” Each time it says “tick,” that is one second!

Sixty seconds is one minute. That’s how long it takes to pee.

Sixty minutes is one hour. A long dinner takes about an hour.

And 24 hours is one day.

But what is a day? The day starts when the sun rises.

Right after the sun comes up, we say it is morning.

When the sun is highest in the sky, it is noon.

After that, we say it is afternoon.

Then the sun goes down. That is called sunset.

After the sun goes down, but when people are still up, it is called evening.

And after people go to sleep, it is night!

People sleep at night. Night lasts until the sun rises again.

Sunrise, morning, noon, afternoon, sunset, evening, night —all that is one day.

Seconds, minutes, hours, days. Those are all bits of time!

Do you remember something you did yesterday?

Right now it is today. Today is Thursday, February 25, 2016Thursday, February 25, 2016!

After you go to sleep tonight, and you wake up, it will be tomorrow!

Yesterday, today, and tomorrow – that is three days. 3 days

A week is seven (7) days. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

A month is four weeks, or about 30 days.

December, January, and February are the winter months. It’s cold!

March, April, and May are the spring months. Leaves come out!

June, July, and August are the summer months. It’s hot!

September, October, and November are the fall months. The leaves fall!

A year is twelve (12) months. January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.

The Earth goes around the sun in one year. Click here
