2 Planometric Views A Planometric view is a type of pictorial view.
It allows a realistic bird’s eye view of an area or workspace. It is most commonly used for interior designers to show clients their ideas for room layouts.

Planometrics are draw using the angles shown below. 90° 90° 60° 30° 45° 45°

4 Planometric Views When drawing planometrics we first of all draw the plan of an object, full size, on the base of our crate at the correct angles. Then we project vertically the correct distance and draw the shapes there.

5 Planometric Views Shown opposite is a sketch of a shape and orthographic views of the shape. Plan We will now draw a planometric view of this shape. Elevation End Elevation

6 Planometric Views Start by drawing the plan full size on the base of the planometric view. Plan

7 Planometric Views Now project up the heights from this base at 90°. These heights should be drawn full size from the Elevation. Plan Elevation

8 Planometric Views We will now recap how this planometric drawing was constructed. Plan Elevation

9 Planometric Views The plan is drawn on the base of the planometric crate Plan Elevation

10 Planometric Views The heights are added to the drawing. Plan Elevation

11 Planometric Views Finally the top surface of the drawing is added.

12 Planometric Views Here the drawing is shown as how it would appear when finished. Plan Elevation

13 Planometric Views Planometric views are drawn at 60°, 90° and 30°or 45°, 90° and 45°. They give a clear view into a workspace or room. They are commonly used by interior designers to show room layouts particularly kitchen layouts.
