2. Believers of any age can be divided into two groups:

3. ►those who seek God for what He can DO for them ►those who seek God for WHO He is.

4. I. ISRAEL’S EXAMPLE

5. Exodus 14:11-12 “Because there were now graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have

6. you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt? Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may

7. serve the Egyptians?’ For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”

8. Exodus 16:3 “Oh, that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate

9. bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

10. II. MOSES’ EXAMPLE

11. Exodus 33:1-3- “Now that you have brought these people out of Egypt, lead them to the land I solemnly promised Abraham,

12. Isaac and Jacob. I told them long ago that I would give this land to their descendants. And I will send an angel before you to drive out the

13. Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. Theirs is a land flowing with milk and honey. But

14. I will not travel along with you, for you are a stubborn, unruly people. If I did, I would be tempted to destroy you along the way.”

15. Exodus 33:15-16- “If Your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me

16. and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”

17. III. TO DRAW NEAR TO GOD WE MUST BE LIKE MOSES.

18. Psalm 100:5 “For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.”
