The Parable of the Soils: Mark 4:3-20

 Some seed fell on the pathway  Some fell on rocky ground  Some fell on thorny ground  Some fell on good ground

 Romans 1:16 -- For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

 Hebrews 4:12 -- For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

 James 1:21 -- Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.

 Hard hearts are robbed by Satan  Mark 4:15 – “…when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word which has been sown in them.”  The persistence of birds!

 Mark 4:17 – “…when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they fall away.”

 Mark 4:19 – “…but the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word and it becomes unfruitful.”

 Mark 4:20 – “And those are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.”  Fertile soil takes hard work!

 2 Corinthians 9:10 -- Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness….

 John 15:5 -- I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

 Ephesians 4:14-15 -- As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ….

 Read and study God’s word.  Pray for God’s divine help and guidance.  Search for ways to be a servant in His kingdom
