3 Duchess of Bedford (Anna Maria Russell) was born on 3 September 1783. She was the daughter of Charles Stanhope 3rd Earl of Harrington and Jane Fleming. She was the wife of Francis Russell.

4 Anna Russell was extremely hungry. She couldn’t stand the „sinking feeling” So her butler had an idea to serve her something to eat. Unfortunately, it was 5 p.m and there was hardly anything in the kitchen.

5 Anna Maria’ s meal was tea with milk, butter cookies called scones and small sandwiches with cucumber.

6 One Duchess’ caprice in the past and now all the United Kingdom drinks tea at 5 p.m.

7 In Englad a lot of people drink traditional English tea at special ‘English Tea Party’.
