Advocates of this school consider the worker a social man. Man is the part of a social group He is influenced by the social forces and seeks satisfaction of the needs which are related to the maintenance of his social relationships. This approach has been considered a simplistic approach.
9
Organisational man is an extension of social man An organisational man is loyal to the organisation and cooperative with the fellow workers Every individual should sacrifice his individuality for the sake of the group and the organisation. Management on its part will take care of the interests of the employees.
10
Based on Classical organisation theory Employees are rational beings who are motivated by money People can be induced to produce more by providing them with economic incentives There is no management- employees conflict because both of them satisfy there needs simultaneously.
11
The self actuating man assumes that man’s inherent need is to use his capabilities and skills in such a way that he should have the satisfaction of creating certain things. If a man is left free he will put in his best efforts Self actuating man is based upon McGregor’s theory Y.
12
Complex man presents the real picture of human behaviour. It recognises the fact that different individuals have different needs and personality traits and if there is a proper match between those and the environment they operate in, functional behaviour will emerge.
14
Mars model is a useful starting point to understand the drivers of human behaviour and results The models highlights the four factors that directly influence an employee’s voluntary behaviour and resulting performance. These four factors have combined effecton individual performance.
