2. People in Britain talk about the weather a lot. Why?
The British weather is very variable: in one day there can be four seasons!!!!!
It can be cool in the morning,
warm and sunny at midday,
windy in the afternoon
and cold in the evening.

3. Very hot and very cold weather is unusual in Britain
Very hot and very cold weather is unusual in Britain. It’s always mild in winter and cool in summer.
This is because of the Gulf Stream ( a warm sea current in the Atlantic Ocean).

4. Don’t worry about the rain!!!!
British people don’t worry about the weather. They can stay on the beach in a cold, grey day or riding a bycicle in the rain!!

5. In the summer of 2012, Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Diamond Jubilee(60 years).
It rained all day, but this didn’t stop the celebrations. It was a very British combination: the Queen, a traditional celebration and of course the rain!
